OIL PAINTINGS
PRINTMAKING &
MIXED MEDIA
During the early days of the pandemic, I started working in printmaking. I carved wood blocks and experimented with and stretched my understanding of color theory. These prints eventually morphed into collage.
For over 30 years, I have been creating large scale nonrepresentational oil paintings. Many of these paintings are highly textured with several layers of paint. Later works include the use of charcoal, pastels, graphite, and collage.
COLLAGE
Collage has been a part of my practice since 2018. I work as if trying to solve a puzzle. I love to see how the pieces fit together to create a new image. Many of these collages are inspired by landscapes.
PHOTO COLLAGE
In 2022-23 I created a series of photo collages. I used the abstract photos that I had taken with my phone throughout the years and printed them on my printer. Then I hand-cut the papers, rearranged them, and adhered them to wood panels. Many of these were then reworked by adding markers, pens, and paper.
